International Driving School FAQ's

International Driving School is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if International Driving School is a licensed school in California?
While we include a list of driving schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the California DMV.  We suggest you contact International Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out if International Driving School is a fully-accredited driving school.
I've been told that either of my parents can monitor my behind-the-wheel training, so I don't have to attend a San Diego California driving school like International Driving School to fulfill my driver training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the California DMV or a state-approved driver training school like International Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will International Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my behind-the-wheel training?
Since you're enrolling in a San Diego California driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a manual-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let International Driving School know what your preference is before enrolling in their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will International Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like International Driving School will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
I just turned 14 years old. Can I receive my learner's permit in California?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding an instruction permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training institute such as International Driving School to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in California. 
I live in San Diego California. Does the law say I have to register for both a driver ed classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
