A A Driving School FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the California DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in California?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently certified to offer driving training courses in California.  We suggest you contact the California DMV to make sure a particular driving school is certified before you enroll in their driving course.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driver training school instructor like the ones they have at A A Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the California DMV or a licensed driver training school like A A Driving School to find out if California allows driver training with a parent.
Do you know if A A Driving School will let me complete my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact A A Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are dirt roads and rugged terrain all around my house. How do I know if A A Driving School will train me on how to drive in a remote area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since A A Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that A A Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rugged terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call A A Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you register with them.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as A A Driving School or the California DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in California.
Do I have to complete a Santa Rosa California drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of A A Driving School's driver training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask A A Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
California's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if A A Driving School offers this course or not?
A A Driving School does offer the driver training course that California requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses A A Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact A A Driving School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a California driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to sign up to take both a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the California DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to fulfill in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is there a law in California that says I have to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in California mandates that all teen-agers enroll in an approved driver training course before receiving a California driver's license.
Do I need to have my instruction permit before I enroll in a driver training course like the one that A A Driving School offers?
You will need to contact A A Driving School or the California DMV to find out if you are allowed to enroll in a driving school like A A Driving School before receiving your California instruction permit.
