School Master Driving FAQ's
Is School Master Driving an approved driving school in Oklahoma?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in Oklahoma. We highly recommend that you contact School Master Driving directly or the Oklahoma DMV to find out for sure if School Master Driving offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of Oklahoma.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license. However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course. We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift automobile? Does School Master Driving have automatic-shift vehicles that I can drive when I do my driver training?
If you're taking a Lawton Oklahoma behind-the-wheel training class, chances are you don't know how to drive ANY vehicle yet-- stick or automatic. However, if you prefer an automatic vehicle then you should tell School Master Driving that prior to signing up to take the course in order to make sure they can accommodate you.
I live in a remote area, that has a lot of dirt roads and bumpy terrain. Will School Master Driving train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a rural area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like School Master Driving will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
Now that I'm 14, will Oklahoma allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely. Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for an instruction permit. We recommend that your contact the Oklahoma DMV office or a Oklahoma-approved driving school such as School Master Driving to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Oklahoma.
Am I required to take a Lawton Oklahoma classroom or online drivers education course before I can register for a behind-the-wheel training course through School Master Driving?
This requirement varies from state to state but most states do mandate new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a behind-the-wheel training course. You should ask School Master Driving if they offer one or both programs.
