San Driving School FAQ's

How do I know if San Driving School is certified by California's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include San Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether San Driving School is licensed by the State of California.  We recommend that you either contact San Driving School directly or possibly the California DMV to find out if San Driving School is a licensed driver training school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at San Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the California DMV or a licensed driving school like San Driving School to find out if California allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
I can't drive a manual-shift. Will San Driving School allow me to do my behind-the-wheel training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact San Driving School and ask them if you can do your driver training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before signing up to take their driver training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are unpaved roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if San Driving School will train me on how to drive in a remote area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since San Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that San Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rugged terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call San Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their driver training course before you register with them.
Now that I'm 14, will California allow me to get an instruction permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the California DMV office or a California-approved driving school such as San Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in California.
Do you know if the laws in California require new teen-aged drivers to take a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to successfully complete a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
If I need to enroll in a Santa Monica California behind-the-wheel training program, can San Driving School help?

I live in Santa Monica California. What requirements must I meet to be able to get my first California driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of California, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  San Driving School may offer courses which would meet the driver training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Do I have to take a Santa Monica California driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in California must enroll in an approved behind-the-wheel training course in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.  Please contact San Driving School for information on the types of driver training courses they offer in Santa Monica California.
Is it okay for me to sign up to take a driver training class in California before I receive my California learners permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their learners permit before they are allowed to sign up to take a driver training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like San Driving School and request more information.
