SD Cheil Driving School FAQ's

Is SD Cheil Driving School a licensed driving school in California?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in California.  We highly recommend that you contact SD Cheil Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out for sure if SD Cheil Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of California.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in California?
Each state has its own rules regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for enrolling in a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the California DMV to find out for sure.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if SD Cheil Driving School makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call SD Cheil Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for certain whether SD Cheil Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
What happens to those of us who live in a remote area? Will SD Cheil Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other rugged?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like SD Cheil Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in California?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as SD Cheil Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in California.
Will I be required to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in San Diego California?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to sign up for both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
I have to complete a driver training class in San Diego California before California will give me my driver's license. Does SD Cheil Driving School offer this type of course?
SD Cheil Driving School does offer the driver training course in San Diego California that is required by the State of California.  You will need to contact SD Cheil Driving School directly for more information about the behind-the-wheel courses they offer and their class schedules.
How do I obtain a drivers license in San Diego California?
In most states, pre-licensed teens are required to complete both a classroom drivers education course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  SD Cheil Driving School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in California.
Do I have to take a San Diego California driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in California must successfully complete an approved driver training course in order to receive a driver's license.  Please contact SD Cheil Driving School for information on the types of behind-the-wheel training courses they offer in San Diego California.
Can I enroll in a California behind-the-wheel training course prior to having my California learners permit?
Most states require pre-licensed drivers to hold a learners permit before being permitted to enroll in a driver training course.  You should contact a driving school like SD Cheil Driving School and ask for more information.
