- All passengers (including you) must wear seatbelts.
- In New Hyde Park New York City, you may not drive on any street within a park
- You may not drive across any bridge or in any tunnel that's under the jurisdiction of the Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority
- You may not drive on the Cross Country, Hutchinson River, Saw Mill River, or Taconic State parkways in Westchester County
After 12 months, if you have kept a clean driving record, you may apply for full driver's license if you pass the road test. With a full license, the above restrictions are removed.

The State of New Hyde Park New York requires that you maintain a certain amount of liability coverage on any vehicle you drive. The minimum required coverage is as follows:
- $25,000--personal injury (1 person)
- $50,000--personal injury (2 or more persons)
- $50,000--death (1 person)
- $100,000--death (2 or more persons)
- $10,000--property damage
Driving while uninsured is a crime! If you drive without the required insurance coverage, you will face having your license suspended, plus a hefty fine.

Drinking while under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited in New Hyde Park New York, and the law is strictly enforced.
Upon your FIRST New Hyde Park New York DUI conviction, you will face the following penalties:
